SoMeUpDaTeS

When it comes to software products, I can become a true geek. I sign up at many different websites, try out many different products(and services), and play around on the web a lot. So when a kind person invited me to try Vox, I readily obliged(Vox is a free blogging site, similar to Blogger, which also combines the theory of social networking in true Web 2.0 style). I must say that I have a good first impression of their service, I like the templates they offer, and I am happy that I dont have to type the *a href* HTML tag each time I have to include a link. The feel is good, and you dont feel unprofessional (which can happen for blogger at times). Vox comes from the SixApart company, the makers of Typepad, a very popular paid blogging service. The sad part (for you all) is that Vox is still in its Preview phase, and access is available only by invite. The happy flip-side is, that I can send you an invite, as and when I get hold of one (I just signed up today, so it might take some time). To make it a fair playing field, I will invite people in the order they ask, i.e. the first to ask will be the first to get it. So let me know if you want to try out Vox. And yes, Vox webome is http://run-forrest.vox.com .

Its been some time since I blogged anything bschool-y related. Not that there isnt anything happening, but probably because there isnt much happening. I will most certainly reapply, have almost finalised on my list of schools, and am still trying to find the kinks in my last years application (in an attempt to cover the potholes this time). My feedback sessions with both Kellogg and Chicago went well, in the sense that they werent sad about anything in particular. Which makes me think that they probably were sad about the package as a whole. Or they just didnt want to speak out the truth (which is quite probable, as a few others will attest). Whatever it is, I will work on the few adcom comments, and my analysis that's currently on, to hopefully build a better application for this final attempt.

Before I close, I wanted to let you all know that there is some joyous news in our blogging community. One of our fellow bloggers(I cant name him/her yet, simply because I cant spoil his/her party completely) got off the WL and is now headed to a great top 10 school(if you really really wanna know who it is, take this as a hint: he/she wasnt headed to bschool if this WL hadnt worked out). My congratulations to him/her again.

LOL @ the mystery. I am very happy for him/her!

p.s. I am curious about VOX - but I would hate to leave all this data behind....I already jumped ship from deadjournal.com to livejournal.com (also a SixApart product) to blogger.
