My younger brother just called me to crib about the fact that his lab supervisor had graded him C in one of the labs, and how most of his friends had faired much better due to not-so-choosy-supervisors. He also happened to tell me that the quality of his report was much better than those who got an A+, and hence his natural frustration.
As I write this blog, I realise that he had called in to hear something comforting. But this quest for B School has gone to my head(I guess). I started analysing his situation as an ad-com would do an application, and found that there was scope for improvement on his side(outside the report). This frustrated him even more and he would have banged the phone had it not been for the little respect that he has for me( I guess that might change if I keep pissing him off like I did today). I then somehow managed to ease off the tension by enagaging in some light banter.
B Schoool or no b school - I guess people still will remain what they are, and dealing with each of them is a challenge in its own league. Bottomline is - keep analysing situations, but don't let out whatever you feel right when you feel, rather at a time when it will be best recieved.
This process is fun....let's see where it takes us.
