this weekend - and some senseless chatter...

so i come in to office early this morning. start with my usual round of selected blogs - there have been new updates. then wander into the website of kellogg ( i might send in an app there) - and notice the huge amount of essays i need to write ( wasnt i a ignorant fool to have never looked at that before). i believe the number of essays is 3 + 3 = 6. then i realise that the toefl is required. can toefl be replaced with the testament that i blog in english for a year now ? LOL
i was actually planning to ask for a waiver - but this school needs an doc from my undergrad institution, which is more difficult to get than just appearing for the toefl exam. so i guess i will just walk in one day to the test center and see what it takes - another very important $140 gone. also, i just dont understand why the toefl score is valid for only 2 years. i havent researched the ets site for any justification they might have, but this is something that doesnt seem logical to me at all. will my english skills go down in the future ? - i dont think so, for most of us, it will only improve.

this weekend was a complete waste, on the bschool scale. did absolutely nothing. i definitely need to get my act together - if i want to stand a chance. i dont want to submit my apps in the same half-prepared way i gave gmat. that would be absolutely disastrous.
bschool stuff apart - this weekend was nice and relaxing. i got back to my sporty ways by spending some good time in the badminton courts, also - caught up on a couple of movies - Meet the Fockers( didnt like it), Ocean Twelve ( ok ) , and Wedding Date ( not too bad) - all on my laptop. now it is time to jump onto making resumes, cover letters, essays, coaching my recommenders what recos are all about, blah blah blah.....
Question for you guys -- does the resume need to be pdf file ? If yes, is the Acrobat writer available for free somewhere , or do we have another software which can do the job ?

hope you all had a good weekend...
