...planning my next move. The 2 dings, one WL, and one impending ominous looking decision [ Chicago started releasing decisions yesterday, and it seems they made a good many calls, but not one to me ] has made me think. I am aware how competitive this app season has been, but I somehow am not able to accept it as a reason for such a dismal performance.
Yes, I will still pursue the Kellogg WL, but if you check the Kellogg waitlist thread, you will know how tough it is this time. While waiting out for that WL, I realised that almost everybody waiting till the 20th either got a ding or a waitlist, so I was little more lucky than a few others. But that in no way makes this ride easy - but we will see how it goes.
I was really hopeful on Chicago(despite the not-so-super interview), but it looks like things werent upto the mark. I still need to get an official decision, but from what I currently feel, it aint looking good. We will have to wait a few more hours to see how it goes.
With all this in mind, I have almost made up my mind to chalk out a reapp strategy. I am not 25 anymore, so I dont have the leisure to try some revolutionary job , and then come back after 2 years. I will most probably do it for 2007. Hence I checked out the Insead website a little while ago. It is a great school - one year less of study, and places a good number of people in my-post-MBA-career-interest. I will definitely look to apply to LBS as well ( I should have done this year itself), and probably throw in a couple of the good US schools ( except HBS and Stanford)....I am undecided if I will put in reapps to the schools I applied this year, primarily because I dont think I will change the world in the next few months....but we will see.
The Midnight Sun asked me that aint Forrest tired of running...the answer, my friend is - HELL YA ! I am very tired, but I guess I should have realised that I had chosen to participate in a marathon run, and not a 100 m sprint. When I began the app season, I was aware of the fact that I am not a stellar candidate, but I still thought that I would be lucky enough to get atleast one admit. Since that hasnt happened, yet, the run has to continue - till this Forrest finds his bschool, where Jenny is waiting for him :)

Hoping against hope for the two of us at Chicago.
You never know what might happen in the next few months, you might change the world by starting a million dollar shrimping business or expose a governmental scandal. It aint over till its over, go Chicago go!
