Baptised in Maroon - the unabridged story

I want to begin by thanking all of you who posted a congratulatory comment here. I am frankly very overwhelmed. A special thanks to InBlue, BSchoolDiva, JatWarrior, and Marquis for your support - you guys give me that fuzzy feeling ;)

So how it happened ? After waiting for the admit call all day(and night) on the 26th, the 27th began with very low hope that anything positive would happen. As a result, I left my cell phone lying somewhere, and went to watch television when the call first came. I guess I saw the message from the AdCom after around half n hour, and immediately realised that I had got in. I felt numb, sort of still am. But you gotta confirm first, right. So I called back, didnt get connected, called again without success, but soon got the call back. I just remember the congratulations, anything after that just fell on deaf ears. I was already on cloud nine.

I initially had decided to do this post differently, but with my fingers shaking, and my mouth stuttering, I had no choice but to keep it concise.

The last few days have been very different from my normal days. I have started to thank people who had helped me through the process, and I am yet to get back to all the blogger folks who congratulated, but I will. Some of my friends were surprised and happy, some were just happy. Lot of attention anyways. Can you believe I already have 3 sets of essays of 3 different schools to review - an admit changes things more than I had imagined, but it's nice, because it feels great to help.

Those around me who consider this admit a big deal, are really ecstatic about me making it finally. The others, remind me that the MBA, as great as we might like it to sound, is after all an education which will help us achieve greater goals. It's still on us to do the legwork.

Thanks once again to you all, and baptised that I am now, I will come back with some rants on how I did my stuff over the last two years to get here. Of course, since i watched Match Point, I never discount that I have been very lucky.

I know the feeling very well having been denied acceptance last year, it felt soooooo good to be made an offer this time from a top school. Congratulations again and nicely done at Chicago.
