over the past few days, i have noticed noticed that many blogs are being spammed by gibberish comments. i dont know how it's all automated(because it cant be manual for sure) - but this is kinda bad, and a lil scary as well.
anyone knows of ways to get around this ?

I had a ton of spam comments on my blog as well. I enabled commenting only for registered users and it has significantly reduced since then although I do get the rare spam comment.
Under the settings tab of blogger, go to the require authentication settings for comment posting and turn it on.
